Terms of Service

Last updated: 19 March 2025

Plain English summary: This website lets you request a fixed written quote for Self Assessment and personal tax work. Accountancy services are provided by Tidy Money Ltd, an ACCA-regulated practice. No professional relationship exists until you accept a written quote and sign an engagement letter. Please read the full terms below.

1. About Us and These Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website located at https://www.selfassessmentaccountantharrow.co.uk and operated by Self Assessment Accountants Harrow (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By accessing our website or submitting an enquiry, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our service. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

2. Nature of Our Service

This website provides information about Self Assessment and personal tax, and a form through which you can request a fixed written quote for accountancy work. Accountancy services offered through this website are provided by Tidy Money Ltd, an ACCA-regulated practice.

The quote-request process consists of:

  • Receiving your enquiry and the details of the work you need
  • Reviewing your income sources and the complexity of your return
  • Sending you a fixed written quote within 48 hours, with no obligation to proceed

No professional engagement exists until you accept a written quote and a formal engagement letter is issued and agreed. Until that point, nothing on this website or in our correspondence constitutes tax advice tailored to your circumstances.

3. Professional Standards

Accountancy services are delivered by an ACCA-regulated practice, subject to the professional and ethical standards of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, including requirements on professional indemnity insurance, anti-money laundering supervision, and continuing professional development. Further background is available on our About Us page.

As required by the Money Laundering Regulations 2017, we carry out client due diligence checks before any engagement begins. We may ask you to provide identity documents as part of onboarding, and we cannot begin work until those checks are complete.

4. No Professional Advice

Nothing on this website constitutes professional tax advice, legal advice, or financial advice. Blog articles, guides, and service descriptions are provided for general informational purposes only. You should not rely on any content of this website as a substitute for professional advice tailored to your specific circumstances.

Tax law changes frequently. HMRC rules, allowances, thresholds, and deadlines referenced on this site may be out of date. Always verify current rules directly with HMRC or a qualified professional.

5. Your Obligations

When using our service, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and non-misleading information in your enquiry
  • Be the individual or authorised representative of the business making the enquiry
  • Not submit enquiries on behalf of others without their express consent
  • Not use our service for any unlawful purpose, including submitting fraudulent enquiries
  • Respond promptly to reasonable requests for records and identity documents once engaged

6. Our Fees

Requesting a quote is entirely free and carries no obligation. Fees for accountancy work are set out in a fixed written quote before any work starts, and confirmed in the engagement letter. The price we quote is the price you pay for the scope described.

If the scope of work changes after engagement, for example additional income sources come to light, any revised fee will be agreed with you in writing before further work is carried out. We do not charge hidden fees or add unagreed extras to invoices.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Self Assessment Accountants Harrow excludes all liability for:

  • Any loss or damage arising from reliance on general information published on this website rather than advice given under an engagement letter
  • Any tax penalties, interest, or HMRC enforcement action arising from inaccurate or incomplete information you provide to us
  • Any indirect, consequential, or financial loss arising from use of our website
  • Any inaccuracies in the general information provided on our website

Liability for accountancy work carried out under an engagement letter is governed by the terms of that engagement letter and the professional indemnity insurance the practice is required to hold as an ACCA-regulated firm. Our total liability for any claim arising from use of this website itself shall not exceed £100.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please raise it with us first at complaints@selfassessmentaccountantharrow.co.uk and we will aim to resolve it directly. Most issues are resolved at this stage.

Because the practice is regulated by the ACCA, you also have recourse to the ACCA’s independent complaints and disciplinary procedure if you believe professional standards have not been met. Details are available at accaglobal.com.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, logos, data structures, and code — is the intellectual property of Self Assessment Accountants Harrow or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any content without our prior written permission.

10. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, including HMRC, professional bodies, and accountancy resources. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of any third-party site. Links do not constitute endorsement.

11. Availability of Service

We aim to keep the website available at all times but make no warranty as to continuous, uninterrupted availability. We may suspend access for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control without notice.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent version. Continued use of our service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of our service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

For disputes involving consumers, you may also have recourse to alternative dispute resolution (ADR) schemes or online dispute resolution via the EU ODR platform where applicable.
